Passage: Ephesians 2:7–10

MISSIONAL COMMUNITY QUESTIONS

1. Re-read Ephesians 1:1-10. (if possible listen to the sermon again.)

2. In looking over your notes from this weeks sermon what was the most important truth from God's Word? Was there anything that particularly caught your attention, challenged or confused you? Any questions?

3. Ephesians 2 tells us clearly that we were dead in our trespasses but made alive by God. Second Corinthians 5:17 says that we are a 'new creation' in Christ. How is your life discernibly different than it was 'pre-Christ'? How has this affected even your thought life?

4. In what ways do you see similarities between our own behavior and that of those you know are not Christians? What separates us when we sin in the same ways that those who are still 'dead in their trespasses'?

5. How is the pressure both elevated and relieved based on the truth that we were created in Christ FOR good works but even our obedience is based upon God preparing our works beforehand?

6. We, I think, would all agree that it is relieving to hear and believe that we are saved by grace and we are kept saved by grace. If so, why does it become so easy to fall back in the mentality or feeling that we have to maintain or earn our salvation? More importantly, what is the remedy?

7. Based on Ephesians 2, how would you describe to someone what salvation is? Faith?

8. Please watch the video below and write down any reactions.
